welcome to
OSWEGO ART FACTORY LLC

welcome! Thanks so much for visiting my site, and for supporting my mission to build a community inspired to create art! My name is Kate Nachtigall and I am the founder of Oswego Art Factory LLC. I have many years of experience working with children & a strong background in art, and I am so excited to combine my two passions together to bring this new art enrichment program to my community. Teaching the kids after school art club classes is such a fun and rewarding job! Seeing the confidence my students have in their work and their excitement about their achievements is what it is all about! Kid's need art, & I'm so happy to provide a space for them to experience art & explore many different methods and materials. Each class has a lesson to follow, but there's also plenty of room for students to make their own choices, explore their creative expression, & have fun making new friends too!
a little about me...
My work experience includes substitute teaching in both Oswego's SD308 and Yorkville's Y115 as well as teaching after school drawing classes at several SD308 elementary schools. I also have many years of experience doing in-home behavior therapy for children with autism, as well as respite care, summer camps, before & after school programs, and I also worked as an instructional assistant for several years in an elementary level self-contained special education classroom.
Beyond that, I've always had a passion for art and creative expression. I have an associates degree in advertising, design, & illustration and I also have experience working as a freelance artist. I've done some residential children themed murals, commissioned portraits and home drawings, sold original art prints and other handmade goods, and have also done graphic design projects like designing invitations for weddings, baby showers, bbqs, and other events.

after school art club...
I'm excited to be combining my experience working with kids with my love for art, and I can't wait to share all my project ideas for the upcoming session with the kids!
As a member of the Oswego community and a parent of three SD308 students, I am very invested in and connected to the Oswego schools, and I am committed to offering a quality program to all the schools I partner with.
This business is a true passion project for me, and I am putting all my effort into every aspect of the business!
about me...
Outside of working on all things related to Oswego Art Factory LLC, you can find me spending time out in my back porch with my husband, our three children, and our dog. We've lived in Oswego for 9 years now, and we really love the Oswego community.
other interests...
I love art, obviously, mostly drawing and painting. I also love photography, live music, antique shops, old furniture, puzzles, board games, laughter, sarcasm, and a healthy dose of chaos!

my goals for Oswego Art Factory...
My goal for the Oswego Art Factory is to build a community that creates and appreciates art. I plan to provide a quality after school art enrichment program to the schools in my community. It is my goal that my classes are a place where every student feels seen and can feel good about what they can create. Participating in the arts can have many positive effects on children, including building spacial awareness, community awareness, social skills, motor skills, self confidence, and more. We often see increased academic success in kids who have access to art and music programs because it can help create balanced brain development. Many kids need a creative outlet, and I am excited to provide that with this program.
I'd also like to work on providing equal access to the arts, so that our program can reach those who may have financial barriers to participating. I'm hopeful that the community will help support this mission by contributing to our scholarship fund.
My future goals for Oswego Art Factory also include hopefully showcasing some local artists, so that this site could be a place that members of the community could come to to find and support local small businesses who are artists and makers right here in our own backyard.
lets bring awareness and support of the arts & build a community inspired to create!
thanks for taking the time to get to know a little about me and my mission for Oswego Art Factory LLC. I'm looking forward to getting to know all my students in this upcoming session of classes with the after school art club!
